Back again....

Holy smokes, it's been a loooooooooong time in between entries but here I am to share the latest.... I have a 3rd son!!!  My precious baby boy arrived 11 months ago and I cannot believe he is almost a year old, it doesn't seem real how fast this year has gone by! We are still in NC and my hubby and I recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary! On a heart breaking note, we lost our beloved Webster this May and it was devestating for our family. He had Cancer, and thankfully he didn't suffer very long. We miss him terribly and I don't imagine the sadness will ever fully go away.
Lately life is all about boys, baseball, and the beach, and I wouldn't have it any other way. #  blessed.

It's Been Awhile!

Wow, it has almost 2 years since I wrote in my blog- that's awful! :(  But I'm taking the initiative tonight to write a few things that have gone on in the last 3 years- just a few highlights:
My baby is now a preschooler!! Jack is almost 4 and wants to be a farmer when he grows up! My oldest started Kindergarten and he is doing amazing! He is the tallest, and awesomest kid in his class!!  His best friend, who is also awesome, is in his class and I'm so glad they got to be together again after having to spend pre-K apart.
I have begun Herbal school! I'm studying to become a certified herbalist and healer, and I LOVE, LOVE, L-O-V-E it!!!!! :)  It is one of the best decisions I have ever made. :) I have about a year to go and I'm learning more and more, its fascinating, and has ben such a joy to help others in different ways.
I wish there was more time to update this, but I will try to be better than I have been!  :)

March already....

I can't believe it's been almost a year since my last post!  But hey, I am a Mom and I ain't got the memory I once had!  So here I am, it's March and in a week I turn 34 and I can't even believe it!  But you know what, I am grateful.
It's a beautiful sunny day here in good 'ol NC and my little village is quiet today. It's Saturday, and it's generally quiet here anyways, but Saturdays and Sundays are very laid back 'round here. Lately, though, I've noticed older kids skate boarding down the street in front of our house! This means nothing to the rest of the world, but to me it's nice to see because I see people, I see my neighbors that I didn't know were around here! We don't have a neighborhood park so I rarely see kids around other than my own and Colten's buddy, Alex, who lives across the street.  But I love it here and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Just cruising around....

My littlest has begun to cruise around the house, and he means business!  He is all over the joint, and it is a joy to watch- he has that look in his eye that says, I'm on a mission, don't nobody get in my way!  So adorable.  :)
We've been pretty busy lately, and because the weather has been so beautiful we've been going out more often to enjoy it. We discovered a beach nearby that I had no iea was there!  It was a lot of fun....

I just love my kids. I am so grateful....

Evening time

Night.

This is the time that I feel the most comfortable. I always have, as long as I can remember.  When the stars are coming out but the sky is still lit by remnants of the sun. And it fades way too quickly, but it's fun to watch. I love night time.

Tonight, after the boys went to bed, I sat out on my front porch with my dog and just looked up and out. For a pretty long time. I thought about a lot of things- how my little town is such a cute village, how if you blink too many times driving down my street, you'd miss it.  We have a couple of churches, one post office, a grocery store and two antique shops. And a train station that no one but the conductors can go into. We have Jack's Game Room that closed down years ago, as well as the convenience store next to it.  But someone comes out every year to decorate and light them up for Christmas. I like that.  During the day I tend to liken this place to Whistle Stop. Without the amazing fried green tomatoes. I guess that's where I come in.

We only have two street lights, but I'd actually prefer it if there were only one. Or none.  I like the dark and the quiet. One of the biggest perks of living out here is seeing the stars at night. Hearing the bugs, and watching the stars. This was what it was like in my hometown growing up. There were more houses around of course, but I loved watching the stars. Especially with my Dad. We'd sit out at night on top of the picnic table he build by hand for our family and I'd listen as he pointed out the constellations to me. Oh, I tried to memorize the stars and planets he showed me. I tried to remember, but I only caught on to a few- Orion, Big and Little Dippers, red Mars and huge Venus, and Jupiter.

But the Moon.   She's my favorite....

Because of Winn-Dixie

....such a sweet, sweet movie. I saw it for the first time the other day, and when Otis (Dave Matthews) sang to Opal, I cried.  So beautiful.

Beautiful Night

So last night we had a storm blow through and though it wasn't bad directly here, the clouds were so beauiful   thatI had to take, of course, a zillion pictures of them. Here's a few...
